Lucy's School Trip To Wendel Farm

This was the best pumpkin patch/animal farm field trip I have ever experienced!  This family farm grows pumpkins and mums, but they are also and educational facility for preschoolers.  They teach "how to be a farmer" with a mock farm setup which houses a few real animals.  The kids learned about chickens, pigs, cows, donkeys, horses, goats, lamas and sheep.  They were able to feed and handle every animal.  They also had miniature barns, apple orchards and garden plots for the kids to pretend to farm.  My favorite were the wooden cows that the kids got to "milk".  Everything was so clean and the people were so knowledgeable and just awesome with kids.  In the end we were taken on a hay ride and allowed to pluck two big pumpkins from the fields.  love love love this place!

The Big Race

Eliot and Lucy participated in an end of summer community race.  There was a half marathon, 5k, 1mile and a toddler run.  Eliot came in the middle of the pack in the 1 mile run and Lucy, well, she did her thing too... :)

Whew!

So much has been going on and I guess I need to play catch up with the blog.  Here's a few things we've been up to.

The library hosted a water show at the community center.  This was our first kid experience in Oxford and they had such a good time.
